Initiative to Give New Wings to Sarguja Tourism: Tour Operators Experience Ambikapur Hospitality and Hotel Facilities under the Fame Trip

The initiative to give new wings to Sarguja tourism was launched under a Fame Trip, during which tour operators experienced the hospitality and hotel facilities of Ambikapur. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s effort promises a new dimension for the tourism industry, and a meaningful discussion was held on Sarguja’s tourism potentials during the visit. In Raipur, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board organized a special hotel tour in Ambikapur one day before the Fame Trip to give national recognition to tourism in the Sarguja division. The aim was to familiarize invited tour operators and travel agents with the excellent accommodation facilities, hospitality traditions and tourism-friendly infrastructure available in Sarguja so that they can attract more tourists to the area in the future. Under the program, tour operators and travel agents from various parts of the country were warmly welcomed at Hotel Purple Orchid, Ambikapur with traditional customs, tilak and welcome drinks. After the welcome, the guests inspected the hotel’s modern accommodation, delicious food facilities, banquet hall and other guest services in detail. The hotel management introduced them to Sarguja’s rich tradition of hospitality through its services. After lunch, all guests were taken to the renowned Makhan Vihar hotel in Ambikapur, where the management showed them the modern amenities, accommodation arrangements and other services. The visitors appreciated the hotel’s quality, cleanliness and facilities for tourists. Following the hotel tour, the hotel operator organized a complimentary high‑tea. During this, detailed and meaningful discussions were held on Sarguja’s major tourist spots, natural beauty, religious and cultural heritage, tribal culture and tourism development possibilities. The tour operators and travel agents also shared their suggestions on the vast tourism development potential in the region. At the end of the program, all tour operators and travel agents praised the excellent facilities and warm hospitality of Ambikapur hotels, stating that the Sarguja division is a unique blend of nature, culture and heritage with immense tourism potential. They expressed confidence that such introductory tours will strengthen Sarguja’s position on the national tourism map and will encourage more domestic and foreign tourists to visit the area in the future. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s initiative is a significant step toward establishing the Sarguja division as an attractive tourism destination, and such programs will also play a vital role in giving new momentum to the tourism industry, local hotel business, employment generation and regional economic development.
