India Weather Update: Monsoon to Hit Andaman Soon, Rain in 15 States

The India Meteorological Department has announced that conditions are becoming increasingly favorable for the further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon. It is anticipated that the monsoon will reach parts of the South Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands around May 16. While the arrival of the monsoon brings hope for long-term relief, several states are currently battling extreme weather transitions. A combination of rain and thunderstorms is predicted for nearly 15 states, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu in the south, and Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha in the east. These regions are expected to see high-speed winds and significant precipitation over the coming days, marking a temporary break from the heat.
