India Weather Forecast: Fog in Delhi and Snow in Northern Hills
As November begins, India is witnessing a stark contrast in weather patterns, with persistent monsoon-like activity in the south and a noticeable drop in temperatures across the north. The India Meteorological Department has released detailed forecasts for November 5, emphasizing regional precautions and shifting climate conditions.
The national capital is expected to experience mild temperatures, peaking at 28°C and bottoming out at 16°C. Residents should prepare for light morning fog. Meteorologists confirm that Delhi will remain dry until at least November 10, with no rain currently in the outlook.
Rainfall systems are currently active across Uttar Pradesh, affecting Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Raebareli, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Fatehpur, and Kanpur with light to moderate showers. Adjacent Bihar faces moderate rain alongside gale warnings. Jharkhand and West Bengal share elevated rain alerts, with West Bengal particularly prone to thunderstorms and high winds.
Western and central states are also under watch. Punjab has a severe alert for torrential rain and strong gusts. Rajasthan expects widespread precipitation in Bharatpur, Barmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Churu, Ajmer, Jaisalmer, Jalor, and Bhilwara. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will similarly deal with brisk winds and rainfall.
The southern corridor continues to be impacted by the dissipating remnants of Cyclone Murasu. Heavy rain and electrical storms are anticipated in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Coastal and inland parts of Karnataka, along with Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Telangana, are set to face stormy conditions. Coastal Andhra Pradesh will see sustained meteorological activity.
In the northern mountain ranges, Himachal Pradesh has issued precipitation warnings for Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, and Solan, with snowfall possible in higher terrains. Uttarakhand will remain dry with foggy hills. Temperatures at the revered Char Dham sites have already registered below zero. Jammu and Kashmir is forecast to receive both rain and snow across several districts.
