Illegal Relationship Accused in Chhattisgarh Murder Case

Balrampur police have linked a gruesome homicide to an alleged affair between the victim, Wasim Ansari, and a local woman. Sources say the woman complained to her husband about being constantly harassed by the young man. The couple then allegedly plotted a pre‑meditated murder, inviting the victim to their home on October 2, citing a need to transport tomatoes. When the victim arrived, the husband allegedly struck him with an axe, dismembering him on site. The head and the rest of the body were later found in separate locations within the nearby forest. The victim’s relatives, however, maintain that the motive was a land‑lease disagreement worth about 80,000 rupees, challenging the police narrative of an illicit relationship.
