Chhattisgarh’s government has provided an in-depth account of how the innovative PRAGATI digital platform is fast-tracking resolutions for pressing state concerns, crediting PM Narendra Modi’s leadership for India’s economic ascent to the fourth global spot. This tool underscores the alignment between governmental promises and actions, embodying proactive governance.
During a media briefing in Raipur’s New Circuit House, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai elaborated on PRAGATI’s scope beyond mere project reviews. It represents a paradigm shift towards efficient administration with minimal bureaucracy and maximum delivery.
Praising India’s democratic framework as an international benchmark, Sai noted the platform’s role in enhancing Centre-state synergy. With its focus on timely execution, PRAGATI ensures preemptive planning and accountability, transforming governance culture.
Nationally, it has propelled 3,300+ projects valued at ₹85 lakh crore, while optimizing 61 flagship schemes from health to housing. Grievance mechanisms across 36 domains have been fortified, streamlining public service delivery.
The state boasts 99 ongoing national projects worth ₹6.11 lakh crore, half of which are operational. PRAGATI addressed 200 Chhattisgarh-specific matters, resolving 91% successfully. Sector-wise triumphs include 24 in power, 23 in road transport, 14 railway projects, 7 coal ventures, and 9 steel initiatives.
Highlights include reviving the Bhilai Steel Plant upgrade and Lara power project after years of delay, spurring industry and employment. The Raipur-Kodebod highway’s land and supply hurdles were overcome efficiently. As Chhattisgarh demonstrates, PRAGATI is scripting a success story of collaborative, tech-driven development.
