HNLU Raipur makes history in Bangkok Global innovation and research agreement signed with 20 international universities. Raipur, Chhattisgarh's prestigious Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) has achieved a major strategic milestone, enhancing the state's pride on the global academic stage. During a prestigious international summit in Bangkok, Thailand, HNLU signed a historic multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for global university innovation and collaboration. Twenty leading and reputable universities from South Asia, Southeast Asia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed this historic agreement. This step is considered a significant Indian initiative to strengthen international cooperation in higher education, innovation, research, and sustainable development. Global summit held at Iconsiam in Bangkok This agreement was made on 9-10 July 2026 at the renowned Iconsiam Convention Center in Bangkok during the 'AUAP - WURI Impact Summit 2026'. The two‑day international conference focused on university innovation policy, mechanisms and impact in partnership with government, with participation of university leaders, policymakers, innovation experts and renowned scholars worldwide. Vice Chancellor Prof. Vivekanandan presented the 'R‑HaS' model At the summit, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan represented HNLU and presented a case study based on the university's innovative Research Hub and Spoke (R‑HaS) model. Through this presentation he highlighted HNLU's interdisciplinary research mechanisms, externally funded research projects and the university's commitment to responsible and impactful research for society, receiving high appreciation from attending experts. Expressing joy over this strategic success, Vice Chancellor Prof. Vivekanandan said HNLU is making impactful progress in showcasing and disseminating its research initiatives globally through meaningful engagement with regional and global university organizations. This multilateral agreement is a milestone in expanding our international academic collaboration. During the conference, substantive discussions were held with AUAP Secretary General Prof. Dr. Anup Swaroop and Executive Secretary Dr. Supaporn Chuangchid on joint conferences, research projects, faculty and student exchange programmes. Under the agreement, collaborative work will be undertaken in several areas. Under Article 3 of the multilateral MoU, all 20 participating institutions will cooperate in the future to conduct globally significant innovation and research projects, faculty, researcher and student exchange programmes, develop innovation ecosystems, promote startups, and develop conferences, workshops and case studies at the international level. The summit was held with the cooperation of these organizations. AUAP (Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific) is a highly prestigious and long‑standing university organization in the Asia‑Pacific region, aiming to bring higher education institutions together to promote academic cooperation, leadership development, and internationalisation of higher education. WURI (World University Rankings for Innovation) is an international ranking system that evaluates universities not only on traditional academic or research metrics but also on real social impact, industry collaboration, entrepreneurship and ethical leadership. HNLU, due to its visionary leadership, continues to earn international recognition in this ranking.
