Himalayan States Brace for Downpours as Low Pressure Lingers

Weather officials warn that the lingering low-pressure system over the Himalayas is set to unleash significant rain across the northern mountainous regions. In Uttarakhand, districts such as Haridwar, Nainital and Rishikesh have been placed under heavy-rain warnings, raising concerns over flash floods in river valleys.

Himachal Pradesh’s high-altitude districts are also expected to receive sudden, intense showers, heightening the risk of landslides on steep slopes. Jammu & Kashmir reports a broad possibility of widespread precipitation, prompting local authorities to alert residents in vulnerable areas.

Further south, the capital Delhi may see light rain on Sunday morning with sunshine returning by afternoon. Forecasts suggest that the city will stay largely dry until the end of August, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C.
