Administration's Strict Action in Hemaaband Animal Cruelty Case, Accused Father-Son Arrested, Encroachment Removed from Government Land, Panchayat Secretary Suspended, 126 Animals Safely Reached Gaushalas
Raipur / The district administration has taken strict action in the case of unauthorized confinement of stray and wandering animals in village Hemaaband, under Dadi tehsil of Bemetara district. Considering the seriousness of the complaint, the administration immediately sent a veterinarian to the spot for investigation. Prima facie, upon finding the complaint to be true, the police registered an FIR against the accused Dilip Rai under various sections and produced him and his son Sanjay Rai before the court on judicial remand.
According to the police, a case has been registered against Hemaaband residents Dilip Rai (55 years) and Sanjay Rai (35 years) under sections 325, 299 of the Indian Penal Code, sections 11(1)(a), 11(1)(g) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and sections 4, 6, and 10 of the Chhattisgarh Kisan Pashu Parirakshan Adhiniyam.
Encroachment Removed from Government Land
The administration did not limit its action to just an FIR. The process of removing encroachment from government land occupied by the accused was completed on August 25. Furthermore, the police have initiated the process of confiscating the tractor used by the accused.
126 Animals Taken to Gaushalas
The health of the 126 animals found at the site was examined. After this, all animals were removed from there and safely housed in other gaushalas of the district. Teams of expert veterinarians have been assigned to monitor the health and treatment of the animals in the respective gaushalas.
Deaths of Dead Animals Will Also Be Investigated
During the investigation, some dead animals were also found on the outskirts of the village. A team of three veterinarians has been formed to ascertain the circumstances and reasons for the death of these animals. The team is conducting necessary medical examinations and investigations.
Panchayat Secretary Suspended
The administration has also taken seriously the negligence in performing duties at the panchayat level in this matter. Mr. Prakash Koshle, Secretary of Gram Panchayat Hemaaband, has been suspended with immediate effect for negligence in discharging his duties.
The administration has clarified that acts of cruelty towards animals, illegal occupation of government land, or negligence in the discharge of duties will be taken seriously. In the Hemaaband case as well, strict action is being taken against the culprits according to the rules. The district administration states that negligence at any level will not be tolerated in such matters.
