Heavy Rain Warnings Across Western and Central India, Storms Expected

The IMD has placed heavy rain alerts for several western and central states, including eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, the Konkan‑Goa belt and central Maharashtra, where very heavy downpours are possible today.

In addition, the meteorological service highlighted strong thunderstorm possibilities in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, with wind speeds potentially reaching 30‑50 km/h and frequent lightning.

The warning also extends to the eastern Himalayas and northeastern states, where heavy showers could cause localized flooding. Authorities in the affected districts are asked to monitor river levels and be prepared for rapid water‑rise situations.
