GRP and RPF Bust Cannabis Trafficking Operation on Bilaspur Railway

A coordinated raid by the GRP and RPF on August 19 halted a large-scale cannabis smuggling attempt at Bilaspur railway station. Triggered by an informant, police found Sangeeta Mishra (43) and Sushil Mishra (45) with a black bag and a red trolley bag containing 21.058 kilograms of cannabis. The haul was valued at roughly ₹10.5 million. Both individuals were charged under Section 20(b) of the NDPS Act. Senior officials commended the swift action, noting that railway corridors remain under close monitoring to deter trafficking.
