Government Stands With Flood‑Affected Families With Full Sensitivity: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai The Chief Minister toured the flood‑affected areas of Sukma district, meeting the victim families to ascertain their condition. In relief camps he personally served food to the affected, boosting their morale. About 300 families in Sukma will receive an additional Rs 10,000 each from the Chief Minister’s relief fund. Prompt damage assessment will be carried out and compensation under RBC‑6‑4 will be provided. The Chief Minister said that assistance, relief and rehabilitation will reach every affected family without any shortfall. Raipur – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited the flood‑affected areas of Sukma today, inspected Shabari Nagar, Srinagar, Linepara and other locations, examined relief and health camps, and held heartfelt discussions with families to understand their problems and needs. He assured the families that the state government stands with them with complete sensitivity during this crisis. Families whose homes, household items or other property were damaged will receive assistance as per rules, and all necessary steps for relief and rehabilitation will be taken. He inspected the relief and health camp at Shabari Nagar, reviewed health facilities, food, drinking water and other arrangements, and personally served food to the people staying in the camp. He also visited the homes of flood‑affected families, gathered information on the conditions and losses during the flood and pledged support. He instructed officials to ensure no delay in providing aid. The heavy rains on 23‑24 September caused floods and water‑logging in many parts of Sukma. Relief operations and health camps are ongoing, providing emergency assistance, dry rations and warm clothing to needy families. Regular health checks, chlorination of drinking water sources and other sanitation measures are being undertaken to prevent water‑borne diseases. The Chief Minister also inspected damage in the Konta area, where continuous rain raised the Subri River level, flooding four wards of Konta municipality. Nineteen relief centres in Konta are providing shelter, food, drinking water and other necessities. He directed officials to prioritize assessment of damage to houses, household items and other assets and to promptly disburse compensation under RBC‑6‑4 to eligible families. Approximately 300 families will receive an extra Rs 10,000 each from the Chief Minister’s relief fund, in addition to the standard RBC‑6‑4 assistance. He urged officials to ensure all flood‑affected families receive full cooperation to return to normal life, and that the entire process from damage assessment to aid distribution be completed with sensitivity and promptness, leaving no eligible family deprived. He emphasized accelerating rehabilitation work after relief, ensuring timely state support to families who suffered loss, and reaffirmed that the government stands with every affected family during this difficult time. Chief Minister’s principal secretary Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary Shri Rahul Baghat and other officials were present.
