Government Committed to Respect, Security and Economic Empowerment of Women: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai

The government is committed to honoring, protecting and economically empowering women, says Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. The Chief Minister participated in various Garba and Navratri festivals in Raipur, extending Navratri greetings to the people of the state. Garba festivals represent our faith, cultural heritage and social unity. The Mahatari Vandan scheme provides financial strength to about 6.8 million mothers and sisters, making 1.4 million women lakhpati sisters. Economic independence of women strengthens families and society and plays a crucial role in building a developed Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh, the sacred land of Mother Kaushalya, has a rich tradition of worshipping the divine feminine, and the Devi Shaktpeeth is an invaluable heritage of our faith and culture. With the spirit of "development and heritage", the state government is preserving the culture, faith and traditions while moving forward. Navratri, a holy festival in Raipur, symbolizes the respect for female power, social unity and our glorious cultural traditions. Indian culture regards women as the embodiment of power. Our government is fully committed to the respect, safety, self-reliance and economic empowerment of mothers and sisters. Women’s progress is the foundation of family, society and state progress. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited the Maa Kali temple in Kalibadi, offered prayers and wished prosperity for the people, and attended various events organized by different community societies, including Garba celebrations and Navratri festivals at various locations. He said Navratri creates a wonderful atmosphere of devotion, reverence and joy across the nation and the state, and worship of Goddess Durga in her many forms inspires courage, discipline, positivity and righteousness. The festival strengthens cultural consciousness and promotes love, harmony and unity in society. Garba is not just a dance but a beautiful expression of devotion to Goddess Durga, originating from Gujarat and now celebrated nationwide, exemplifying India’s cultural diversity and unity. Festivals and rituals bind societies together, fostering love, harmony and brotherhood. In Chhattisgarh, all communities preserve their traditions and contribute significantly to social and economic development. The participation of mothers, sisters and daughters makes the Garba events more beautiful and dignified, reminding us of our responsibilities towards women’s power. The Mahatari Vandan scheme, a key component of the government’s resolve to make women economically self-reliant, provides a monthly assistance of one thousand rupees directly to the bank accounts of about 6.8 million mothers and sisters. This scheme not only offers financial aid but also strengthens confidence and decision-making independence. Women use the funds for daily needs, children’s education, health, savings and family requirements, positively impacting the whole family. Seeing confidence and satisfaction on women’s faces validates the government’s efforts. The goal is to provide every woman in Chhattisgarh opportunities to progress and fully participate in state development. Today, 1.4 million women have become lakhpati sisters, a testament to the capability of Chhattisgarh’s maternal power. Self-help groups enable women to increase family income, strengthen village economies and improve education and health, accelerating positive societal change. The role of maternal power in building a developed Chhattisgarh is vital. Chhattisgarh is the sacred land of Mother Kaushalya, home to worship of deities such as Maa Danteshwari, Maa Bamleshwari, Maa Mahamaya and Maa Chandrahansi, reflecting a rich tradition of divine feminine worship. During Navratri, pilgrimages flow from Danteshwari to Bamleshwari, Mahamaya and Chandrahansi, with lamps lit across villages and towns, immersing the state in devotion. This showcases the deep religious faith and unique cultural heritage of the region. The state’s culture harmonizes nature, faith, folk life and spirituality, and it is our duty to preserve and pass on these traditions to future generations. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India proudly embraces its ancient cultural heritage while advancing modern development. The Chhattisgarh government, aligned with the "development and heritage" mantra, is committed to holistic development while preserving culture, faith and traditions, improving facilities at Shakti Peethas and pilgrimage centers, and linking them with tourism. Cultural heritage is not just a memory of the past but the power of the present and inspiration for the future. Events like Navratri and Garba connect the younger generation with culture and traditions, strengthening social harmony and family values, and spreading enthusiasm and positive energy. The Chief Minister prayed to Goddess Durga, wishing the blessings of Mother Rani on all citizens, prosperity in every household, and continuous progress of Chhattisgarh in peace, prosperity and development.
