Government allocates Rs 5 crore for Shaktipeeth pilgrimage scheme

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Shyam has secured a five‑crore allocation in the 2026‑27 budget to launch the Chhattisgarh Aastha Path (Shaktipeeth Yatra) scheme. The program will promote organized tours of the five key temples, providing pilgrims with guided routes, rest stops, and safety infrastructure.

Tourism officials and district administrations are already working on site beautification and the installation of night lighting, water kiosks, and visitor centres. The project also seeks to integrate private investment through time‑share, eco‑tourism and adventure tourism models, while safeguarding the intellectual property of local communities.
