Government Aid Enables Surgical Cure for Congenital Foot Condition

Avinash Nayak, a 21‑year‑old from the Farasbahar block, was born with an unusual growth affecting the muscles and bones of his left big toe and an adjacent toe. The condition progressively worsened, limiting his ability to walk and perform routine chores. Earlier consultations at the district hospital recommended a specialised operation, but his family’s economic hardship made the plan unaffordable.

Seeking relief, Avinash appealed to the Chief Minister’s Camp office situated in Bagia. Recognising the urgency, the office facilitated his transfer to DKS Hospital, a premier health institution in Raipur. There, orthopaedic specialists carried out a corrective surgery that addressed the overgrown tissue and restored normal foot anatomy.

Following the procedure, Avinash’s recovery accelerated, allowing him to resume walking unaided and manage everyday responsibilities. He visited the Chief Minister’s camp office to convey his gratitude, emphasizing that the assistance received altered his life trajectory.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai praised the swift action taken by his team and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing medical aid to families facing financial constraints. The successful outcome highlights the effectiveness of targeted interventions in delivering critical healthcare to those in need.
