3000 Water Absorption Tanks Construction to Strengthen Groundwater Recharge and Sustainable Agriculture

Raipur, The resolution of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai to make water conservation a mass movement is being effectively realized in Jashpur district. Under the 'Mor Gaon, Mor Pani' (My Village, My Water) mega campaign, operated under the developed India Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission-Rural, 3000 water absorption tanks have been constructed in Gram Panchayat Ghoghar of Bagicha development block. This initiative has emerged as a significant achievement towards strengthening rainwater conservation, groundwater recharge, and sustainable agricultural systems.

A widespread public awareness campaign is being conducted in Jashpur district regarding water conservation. Through this, villagers have been made aware of the importance of rainwater, groundwater conservation, and measures to deal with potential water crises in the future. The objective of the campaign is to improve groundwater levels by maximizing rainwater harvesting and to ensure the scientific and sustainable use of water resources.
