Inclusive Growth: SC, ST, and Women Entrepreneurs See Record Participation on GeM

The GeM platform has significantly expanded the participation of micro and small enterprises (MSE) in government buying within Chhattisgarh. In 2025-26, purchases from MSEs rose 61% to reach ₹1,800 crore, far surpassing the targeted 25% share. Transactions with women-owned businesses jumped 97%, while those with entrepreneurs from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities grew by 108%. Start-ups witnessed an impressive 178% increase in their share of government contracts. These figures demonstrate that transparent, digital procurement can open doors for traditionally under-represented groups, fostering an inclusive ecosystem of suppliers that benefits the overall state economy.
