Delhi Minister Gajendra Yadav Issues Implementation Orders for Bastar Schools
On Wednesday, Education Minister Gajendra Yadav led a divisional review of the education department in Bastar, convening officials in the Inspiration Hall of the collectors’ office. The agenda focused on the status of departmental schemes, academic activities and the overall health of the school system in the region.
Yadav reiterated that education is essential for Bastar’s holistic development and instructed department heads to ensure robust implementation of all schemes. He placed particular emphasis on reviving schools in interior areas, guaranteeing full attendance of pupils and teachers, and fostering an environment conducive to high‑quality learning.
The minister directed that primary classes follow a strict calendar, period and subject‑wise timetable for mathematics, Hindi and English, complemented by regular revision examinations. Attendance of staff will now be tracked through the Base App, while teachers’ online presence will be recorded via the VSK App; any lapses will be dealt with as per existing rules.
Present at the meeting were the education department secretary, senior directors, the collector, district education officers, DM, BEOs and other officials. The discussion covered the condition of primary schools, the necessity for new schools, strategies to restart shut schools, and admission of inter‑district students into vacant classrooms. Yadav also called for unit tests and quarterly exams based on past question papers to raise annual examination performance.
The review examined enrollment numbers, dropout statistics, teacher availability, vacant posts, the Swami Vivekananda Excellent Schools initiative, scholarship disbursement, uniform allocation, textbook distribution, the Saraswati Cycle Scheme, mid‑day meals, construction activities and the execution of various government programmes. The minister ordered demolition of unsafe school buildings, optimal use of repair budgets, and 100% textbook distribution. He also stressed maintaining a consolidated inventory of undelivered books at each school.
