Forest Minister Inaugurates Rs 24.38 Lakh Wooden Bridge at Bilasa
Bilaspur – The state’s Forest and Climate Change Ministry marked a significant milestone on Wednesday by opening a wooden bridge at Bilasa Lake. The bridge, costing 24.38 lakh rupees, was inaugurated by Minister Kedar Kashyap in a ceremony that drew representatives from the district administration, municipal corporation, and local community groups.
Constructed to provide a safe and scenic crossing, the bridge enhances accessibility for tourists traveling to the lake’s shorelines. It also serves as a focal point for future development plans, which include improved pathways, information kiosks, and eco‑tourism packages.
Authorities expect the bridge to drive a surge in visitor numbers, thereby generating employment opportunities in hospitality, transport, and related services. The project underscores the government’s strategy to blend infrastructure development with environmental stewardship.
The event featured speeches by senior officials, followed by a guided walk across the bridge, allowing guests to experience firsthand the view of the lake’s shimmering waters framed by lush greenery.
