Raipur / On the occasion of Hareli festival, a special program will be organized on August 12 at the Chief Minister's residence in Nava Raipur, celebrating Chhattisgarh's rich folk traditions, agricultural culture, and rural life. This folk festival of Hareli will be celebrated with full traditional joy and Chhattisgarhi spirit in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. This special program, organized by the Department of Culture and Department of Agriculture, will begin at 10 AM.

Hareli is considered the main and first folk festival of Chhattisgarh. Deeply connected to agriculture, this festival symbolizes gratitude towards nature, the wish for a good harvest, and the collective joy of rural life. Celebrated amidst the greenery of the Sawan month, Hareli festival expresses the agricultural culture of the state and Chhattisgarh's intimate relationship with nature.

On the day of Hareli, farmers clean and worship their agricultural tools and plows. Expressing respect for the tools used in farming, they wish for a good harvest, prosperity, and happiness. In villages, Hareli celebrations are shared with traditional worship in homes and community gathering places. The tradition of climbing 'Gedi' and various Chhattisgarhi games further enhances the excitement of this festival.

The special program organized at the Chief Minister's residence will also provide a live glimpse of these folk traditions and rural life of Chhattisgarh. The venue will be decorated in a Chhattisgarhi rural setting, in keeping with the spirit of Hareli. The rich cultural heritage of the state will be displayed through traditional agricultural items, tools, and various symbols of folk culture.

Traditional activities related to Hareli will be a special attraction at the event. An atmosphere of festivity will be created with traditional Chhattisgarhi games and various colors of folk culture. The objective of the event is also to connect the new generation with the rich heritage of their folk traditions, agricultural culture, and rural life.

Hareli festival symbolizes that way of life in Chhattisgarh where nature, agriculture, and culture are intrinsically linked. This festival conveys the message of respecting farmers and farming, along with collectivism, nature conservation, and staying connected to one's roots.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is continuously striving for the conservation and promotion of Chhattisgarh's folk culture, festivals, traditions, and cultural heritage. The organization of the Hareli festival at the Chief Minister's residence, taking this spirit forward, will be a celebration of the pride of Chhattisgarh's soil, mothers, farming, and folk life.
