To make services viable on low‑demand, rugged routes, the state government provides per‑kilometre subsidies to operators: ₹26 per km in the first year, ₹24 in the second and ₹22 in the third. So far, 107 operators have received a cumulative assistance of ₹5.77 crore, and they also enjoy up to three‑year exemption from motor‑vehicle tax.

Each bus is fitted with a Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD). Data from these devices flow to the Transport Department’s Control and Command Centre, enabling real‑time monitoring on the MMGBY portal. Payments to operators are settled based on the actual kilometres logged, as verified by VLTD reports.

Passenger convenience is further enhanced through the Bus Sangwari mobile app, which displays schedules and live location. Future upgrades will allow fare payment via UPI and QR codes, streamlining the ticketing process.
