Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary Reaches Among Loved Ones in the Difficult Flood Hour

Finance Minister and Raigarh MLA O.P. Choudhary reached the flood-affected villages of Saraya in Raigarh assembly constituency amid rising water levels of the Mahanadi. He visited the relief camp set up at the girls’ school in Saraya, met warmly with the villagers, and inquired about their condition. In the camp, he sat with mothers, sisters, elders, children and youths, speaking directly with them to understand the problems caused by the flood and the families’ needs. The villagers, relieved to see their elected representative, openly shared their concerns. He said that because of the flood people have had to leave their homes for the relief camps, a difficult time for affected families, but they should not feel alone; the government stands with them with full sensitivity. Protecting people and providing every necessary assistance is the top priority. He reviewed the provision of food, clean drinking water, health facilities, medicines, sanitation and other essential arrangements at the camp and instructed officials to ensure that no one faces any trouble. He gave special directions to attend to the needs of children, the elderly and women with sensitivity. He also told officials to continuously monitor the flood situation and Mahanadi water levels and, if needed, evacuate affected people to safe locations promptly. He urged the administration to work with utmost promptness and sensitivity during this tough period and to ensure that necessary aid reaches every affected family. It is noteworthy that, given the rising water level of the Mahanadi, the administration is maintaining constant surveillance in the coastal areas of Raigarh district and is providing safe relocation and necessary facilities to the affected villagers.
