Sai said Chhattisgarhi cinema has a proud history, from the first film 'Kahi Debe Sandesh' to the newer Chhollywood industry. With digital and OTT platforms reaching wider audiences, he called for responsible, positive and value-based cinema.
The state is working to give the local film industry a new identity. The Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation has been reactivated, while the proposed Chitrautpala Film City and Tribal and Cultural Convention Centre, costing Rs 150 crore, is expected to create opportunities for artists, technicians and workers. The chief minister also announced Rs 20 lakh for development works in Gidhani Path and Rs 10 lakh for Sen Samaj Bhavan in Dhamtari.
