Family Reports Possible Kidnapping of 16-Year-Old After Unexplained Absence

On the 7th of August, a teenage girl aged 16 left her Bilaspur home around 9 a.m., stating she was heading to a grocery shop. Hours later, she had not come back, raising concerns among her relatives.

After exhaustive local searches involving neighbours, extended family and familiar contacts, the family filed a formal complaint with the Sikari police. The case was entered as FIR 0737, with investigators invoking Section 137(2) of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with suspected abduction.

Police officials are now focusing on the route the girl might have taken after exiting her residence, questioning potential witnesses and employing technological means such as mobile tracking and CCTV reviews.

The minor’s identity remains undisclosed to protect her privacy. Authorities continue to follow every lead, and the community is urged to report any sightings or information that could aid the investigation.
