Family Dispute Leads to Legal Action Over Document Manipulation in Bilaspur

A domestic disagreement in Bilaspur has escalated into a criminal case involving alleged document manipulation at a women’s counseling centre. Sudhanshu Mishra reported that his wife, Ritu Pandey Mishra, a primary‑school teacher, filed a complaint after a family clash. The complaint was processed by counselor Asha Singh on June 12, 2023.

Mishra alleges that the counselling register recorded a request to withdraw an ongoing case against his wife, complete with signatures from all three parties. Later, when a dowry‑harassment case was lodged against his in‑laws, Mishra discovered that the certified copy of the counseling record and the associated receipt did not match the original entries.

Having received no response from the Inspector General and the Superintendent of Police, Mishra sought judicial intervention. The court, under Judicial Magistrate Kumari Riya Chakravarti, directed civil line police to file an FIR under sections 337 and 340 of the BNS act. Crime number 1282 was recorded on September 18, 2026, and the police are now examining the register, certified copies, and related documents.

The investigation will determine whether any tampering occurred, who is responsible, and what further legal steps may follow.
