Escaped Driver Abandons Scorpion Truck, Leads Police to Arrest Two Accused

When the Scorpion truck could no longer move forward or reverse in the cramped alley, the driver left the vehicle and ran toward the surrounding sugarcane fields. The sudden maneuver enabled police patrols, already positioned along the main road, to close the perimeter. Within minutes, officers tracked the fleeing smugglers and detained two men, identified as Balveer Singh of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and Ajay Goyal. Both claimed they were first‑time participants in a cannabis trafficking run and were promised a payment of 7,000 rupees each. They have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
