Education Minister declares Dr. Tijan Bai Memorial School in Ganiori

During a visit to the late Dr. Tijan Bai’s hometown on July 5, 2026, the State Education Minister participated in the final rites and subsequently announced a landmark decision: the Government High‑Higher Secondary School in Ganiori will now carry her name, becoming "Dr. Tijan Bai Government High‑Higher Secondary School, Ganiori". The minister emphasized that Dr. Tijan Bai’s unrivaled devotion to folk music, her vibrant voice, and her lifelong service have given Chhattisgarh a cultural identity recognised beyond India’s borders. He prayed for the departed soul’s peace and asked the public to keep her legacy alive through the renamed school.
