Education is the fundamental mantra of success, no child should be deprived of education — Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal gave a warm welcome to newly admitted children Textbooks, uniforms, study material and bicycles were distributed and teachers and volunteers of the new literacy campaign were honored Raipur. In Sarguj district the academic session 2026-27 began enthusiastically with a district level school entry celebration. In the P.G. College Auditorium this dignified program was held where the Ministers of Tourism, Culture, Religious Trusts and Religious Affairs, Shri Rajesh Agrawal, rang the school bell to welcome the newly admitted children, applied tilak, presented flower garlands and sweets and facilitated their admission to the school. The entire program showed enthusiasm for education, hope for the bright future of children and a clear resolve to educate society. Addressing the program, Shri Rajesh Agrawal said that being present among children and inspiring them for the new beginning of school is a matter of great pride. He said that education is the fundamental mantra of success and that it is the foundation that paves the way for knowledge, skills, confidence and prosperity in a person's life. He added that the government's aim is not only to enroll children but also to ensure that every child regularly attends school, receives quality education and fulfills their dreams. He stated that no child will be left deprived of education and that the government is continuously working to eliminate drop‑out cases. He highlighted the special importance of education in tribal‑dominant areas like Sarguj. He praised the efforts made to integrate children from hill Korva and other backward tribal communities into mainstream education. He appealed to students to study diligently and to parents, teachers, the district and the state to illuminate their names. He also urged guardians to ensure regular attendance and to provide equal opportunities for sons and daughters. Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission Chairman Shri Vishv Vijay Singh Tomar encouraged students to stay dedicated to education and to keep progressing in life. Chhattisgarh Home Construction Board Chairman Shri Anurag Singh Dev said that the school entry celebration is an effective means to remove the fear of school among small children. He noted that the state government is continuously working to provide better academic environment and facilities in schools. Shri Bharat Singh Sisodia urged teachers to instill noble values along with education. Collector Shri Ajit Vasant informed about innovations and achievements in the education sector in the district, stating that buildings have been approved for construction‑less schools, caste certificates have been issued for students and admission of backward tribal children to higher classes has been ensured. He said medical and engineering aspirants have been placed in private coaching institutes in Raipur. To ensure sufficient teacher availability, guest teachers are also being appointed. He emphasized that primary school teachers lay a strong foundation for children's future, making their role most important. During the program a wall magazine prepared by school children was also unveiled. On the occasion of the school entry celebration, students entering Class I, VI and IX received uniforms, textbooks, copies, school bags and other study material. This important initiative aimed to boost children's enthusiasm for education and provide them a better academic environment. Under the government's bicycle distribution scheme, 21 eligible girls were provided bicycles. On this occasion Shri Rajesh Agrawal said that schemes like bicycles provide easy access to school for girls and also develop confidence and self‑reliance. He wished the girls a bright future and called for continued progress in the education sector. Outstanding teachers were also honored. Twenty‑one teachers receiving the Education Messenger Award 2025-26 and three teachers receiving the Knowledge Lamp Award 2025-26 were presented with shawls and gifts. Retired teachers and staff of the Education Department were also honored and wished good health and a happy future. Volunteers who made remarkable contributions to the Ullas Navbharat Literacy Programme by making illiterate people literate were also honored. All present persons pledged to spread education and eradicate illiteracy in society. The presence of Municipal Mayor Mrs. Manjusha Bhagat, District Panchayat President Mrs. Nirupa Singh, District Panchayat Vice‑President Mr. Devnarayan Yadav, Municipal Ambikapur Chairman Mr. Harminder Singh Tiny, local representatives, officials, teachers, staff and a large number of students and parents gave the school entry celebration the form of a mass education movement. The entire event conveyed that only through the collective efforts of government, administration, teachers, parents and society can quality education reach every child and build a prosperous and educated Chhattisgarh.
