Education department issues transfer list, 700 teachers transferred, 400 names stopped due to various reasons

Raipur – After long‑awaited transfers for teachers in the state, the education department has finally issued orders. The transfer list was prepared after extensive screening and testing, and final orders were issued for approved teachers. The initial departmental list contained about 1,600 names; after review it was reduced to a revised list of about 1,000. Approximately 400 names that did not meet the set criteria were removed, and the remaining teachers received transfer orders. The department prioritized school academic arrangements and student interests, excluding teachers whose transfer would leave a school understaffed, those affected by justification, single‑teacher schools, transfers from notified to non‑notified areas, and cases in schools with high student numbers. Sources said the list was prepared based on applications and recommendations received at various levels, and each case was examined before finalising the list, resulting in the removal of about 400 names. With the final transfer orders now issued, the long wait is over. In the next phase, the department is also discussing an online transfer system. After the current process, the education department is considering making future transfers more transparent, simple and technology‑based. Discussions are ongoing to implement an online application system, allowing teachers to apply for transfers through a designated portal, which is expected to increase transparency, enable digital document management, online monitoring and timely resolution. The department is studying online transfer systems used in other states, and after testing technical and administrative aspects, a final decision will be taken at the governmental level. For now, transfer orders for teachers in the final list have been issued, and thousands of teacher families are now looking forward to their new postings.
