Economic assistance of 3.2 million rupees to 13 victims of Naxal violence under rehabilitation policy

Under the rehabilitation policy, economic assistance of 3.2 million rupees has been approved for 13 victims of Naxal violence in Bijapur district. The decision comes following the sensitive initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the state government's commitment to rehabilitate families affected by Naxalism, as directed by Forest and Bijapur district minister Kedaar Kashyap. The assistance is for citizens who were seriously injured or permanently disabled in Naxal attacks, aiming to provide them financial support for a dignified life and rehabilitation opportunities. The beneficiaries include Nandu Oyam and District Kunjam, severely injured in cross‑fire during a police‑Naxal encounter; Esta Borra, injured in a Maoist assault; Mithram Rawte, injured in a bomb tunnel explosion; Korse Santosh, Chidem Kanhaiya and Kavita Kudiam, injured in an IED blast; Ichhami Sudaru, permanently disabled by Maoist beating; and Rammuri Karam, Bablu alias Mohan Kadti, Ganga Kalamoo, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Sodi Mukesh, who were severely injured or permanently disabled in IED explosions. Collector Vishwdeep has instructed officials to expedite payment of the approved amount through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiaries' bank accounts so that timely financial aid reaches the victims. The state government's rehabilitation policy is providing a strong foundation of relief, security and self‑reliance for citizens affected by Naxal violence, exemplifying the government's sensitivity and dedication to the victims' families.
