Dowry Demands and Domestic Abuse Lead to Fatal Outcome in Bilaspur

Relentless domestic abuse and a dowry demand of Rs 1.65 lakh culminated in the murder of 26-year-old Durga Nirmalkar in Bilaspur. Relatives of the deceased allege that the harassment intensified significantly following the birth of her second daughter. On September 26, after a physical altercation, Durga's husband and his family members allegedly strangled her. All three suspects—the husband, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law—are currently in judicial remand as the investigation continues.
