A domestic row in Dhamtari nearly ended in loss of life as a young mother jumped into the Gangrel Dam reservoir. The incident occurred on a Tuesday afternoon after the woman had an argument with her spouse. Before the suicide attempt, she visited the Angarmoti Mata temple, leaving her family under the impression she was seeking spiritual solace. However, witnesses were shocked to see the woman leave her young child on the embankment before plunging into the deep waters. Quick-acting locals managed to pull her out of the water before she drowned. The Rudri police have arrived at the scene and are documenting the case, noting that the woman was under significant mental stress due to family issues.
