Raipur, The five-day Divisional Saras Mela organized at Bhoramdev Temple Chauraha in Kawardha district was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma. Addressing the millionaire sisters of self-help groups on this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma said that the Divisional Saras Mela gives a new direction to the self-employment of rural women and this event helps in strengthening the rural economy.
The Saras Mela will open the doors of success for the sisters of the Divisional Saras Mela group for a grand exhibition and sale of indigenous, natural, and quality products. During the inauguration of the Divisional Saras Mela, Chairman Chhattisgarh Gau Seva Ayog Mr. Bissar Patel, District Panchayat President Mr. Ishwari Sahu, District Panchayat Vice President Mr. Kailash Chandravanshi, District Panchayat Members Mr. Ram Kumar Bhatt, Mr. Virendra Sahu, Mr. Lokchand Sahu, Mr. Santosh Patel, Mr. Videshi Ram Dhurve, Collector Mr. Gopal Verma, CEO District Panchayat Mr. Abhishek Agrawal, along with other public representatives, dignitaries, district officials, sisters of self-help groups, and villagers were present.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma inspected the stalls set up in the fair and took detailed information about their production from the women's groups. During this, he boosted the morale of the women's groups by purchasing from the stalls and wished them success in their business.
Regarding the Divisional Saras Mela, Collector Mr. Gopal Verma said that the fair has been organized in the month of Sawan and will continue till the evening of August 06. This fair, organized on the holy and historical land of the world-famous Bhoramdev temple, is not just an opportunity for shopping but an important initiative towards rural entrepreneurship and women empowerment. More than 50 stalls offer fresh and nutritious millet products, delicious homemade food items, and other local products based on forest produce, all under one roof. A vast collection of handicrafts and handloom items, attractive products made of bamboo and cane, household decorative items, traditional attire, and many other types of useful indigenous materials will be available for sale.
Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat Mr. Abhishek Agrawal said that the Divisional Saras Mela is being organized from the perspective of providing a market for the materials made by the sisters of the group. Every purchase will be a pledge for the empowerment of rural women and a self-reliant India. Organic food items, attractive decorative items, and other useful items are available at low rates. All residents of the district are appealed to take advantage of the Divisional Saras Mela along with visiting Baba Bhoramdev in this holy month of Sawan.

It is noteworthy that in the Divisional Saras Mela, 50 stalls have been set up for the exhibition and sale of attractive materials produced by the sisters of women self-help groups from Kawardha and other districts of Durg division including Durg, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Bemetara, Mohla-Manpur-Ambgarh Chowki, and Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai. These stalls feature various organic food items such as turmeric, chili, coriander, Kodo-Kutki, jackfruit, mango, lemon, mahua pickles, papads, black rice, along with incense sticks, donas-pattals, bags, cosmetic items, handbags, and many other attractive items made by women's groups.
