Digital E‑Fund Enables Fast, Paperless Loans for Chhattisgarh Government Staff

Chhattisgarh’s e‑Fund platform has been upgraded to deliver interest‑free, short‑term loans to its government workforce. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced the new digital service on July 8, emphasizing that the process is fully online, paperless and safeguarded by strict data‑privacy standards.

Employees can now submit applications via the e‑Fund Employee Corner, where e‑KYC verification and digital consent trigger immediate loan approval and disbursement. The system’s Standard Operating Procedure guarantees secure handling of personal data while eliminating the need for middlemen or high‑interest private lenders.

The pilot phase recorded registration by more than 73,000 staff members, with 27,000 already receiving funds. The finance department highlighted that the scheme does not add to the state’s fiscal deficit, as it utilizes existing funds. Plans are under way to extend larger loan limits and competitive rates for employees with strong credit histories.

Key representatives from finance, public works, and the personnel ministry were present at the launch, signalling the administration’s focus on modern, citizen‑centric financial solutions.
