Developed Bharat-Ji Ram Ji Scheme Will Give New Direction to Rural Development From 1 July 2026 the scheme will be implemented nationwide, guaranteeing rural families 125 days of employment. Raipur, 30 June 2026 – From 1 July 2026 the Developed Bharat Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) scheme is being launched across the country. The scheme aims to boost employment, livelihood enhancement and basic infrastructure in rural areas. It seeks to empower rural India in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision of a Developed India by 2047, making villages strong, self‑reliant and prosperous. Through the scheme, rural families will receive job opportunities as well as creation of sustainable assets, livelihood enhancement and overall village development. State budget allocation of ₹4,000 crore The scheme will guarantee up to 125 days of employment per year to rural families based on demand. Priority will be given to sustainable activities such as water conservation, rural infrastructure development, agriculture‑related work, natural resource management and livelihood enhancement. A total of 318 types of works have been included to realise the concept of a developed village. For effective implementation, the Chhattisgarh state budget for FY 2026‑27 allocates ₹4,000 crore. Launch on 2 July The launch and implementation of the scheme will be celebrated throughout Chhattisgarh with programmes across the state. On 2 July 2026, the scheme will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, who will interact with representatives from various states. The event will be held in the village of Gandaikurd, Bodla development block, Kabirdham district, with Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma joining via video conferencing to converse with farmers. Strengthening Gram Sabha The scheme guarantees rural families up to 125 days of employment per year, with wage payment within 15 days and unemployment allowance if work is unavailable. Digital job cards and a technology‑based work management system, along with timely and transparent payments, will further empower Gram Sabhas. Gram Sabhas will prepare development work plans for Panchayats Water conservation, irrigation, rural roads, tree planting and sustainable asset creation are emphasised in the VBG Ram Ji scheme. It will provide new skill‑development and livelihood opportunities for rural youth. Social audits and digital monitoring will increase transparency. Under the new arrangement, Gram Panchayats will draft development work plans through Gram Sabhas, ensuring projects match local needs. The Developed Bharat‑Ji Ram Ji Scheme is a significant initiative to strengthen the rural economy, increase employment opportunities and lay a sustainable foundation for village development, linking rural India to the vision of a self‑reliant and developed nation.
