Deputy Engineer Suspended with Immediate Effect for Non‑Compliant Atalji Bronze Statue in Katghora

Raipur, the Urban Administration and Development Department has suspended Deputy Engineer Shri Chandra Prakash Jaiswal with immediate effect for the bronze statue of Atalji installed in the Atal complex of Katghora Municipal Council, Korba district, as it does not meet standards. The Urban Administration Department issued the suspension order today from the directorate. The suspension was carried out based on the investigation report submitted by the Joint Director of the Bilaspur regional office of the Urban Administration and Development Department, regarding complaints related to the statue of the late former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee installed in the Atal complex in Katghora. The report found that the statue construction work violated provisions, layers were peeling off, it was continuously damaged, and the bronze statue did not meet standards, making Deputy Engineer Shri Chandra Prakash Jaiswal responsible for irregularities during the installation. Due to this act being contrary to his official duties, he was suspended with immediate effect. During the suspension period, his headquarters has been fixed as Joint Director, Regional Office, Urban Administration and Development, Durg. He will be eligible for a livelihood allowance as per the rules.
