Worshiped cows and agricultural tools, prayed for a good harvest and prosperity.

Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao celebrated Harela, the first festival of Chhattisgarh, today with traditional puja and rituals. He performed a formal puja of cows and agricultural tools like plows, spades, and hoes at his official residence in Nava Raipur. A neem branch, a symbol of health and greenery, was placed at the entrance of the house. On the occasion of Harela, he prayed to God for good rains, prosperity, and lush crops in the state.

Extending Harela greetings to the residents of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao said that Harela is a festival connected with the soil, agriculture, and folk culture of Chhattisgarh. It showcases the rich folk traditions of Chhattisgarh, including the Gerhi. Harela reflects our culture and the intimacy of rural life. This festival also expresses respect for nature and the farmer. Our folk traditions and festivals are our cultural identity. It is the responsibility of all of us to preserve and promote them.
