Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge Minister of Kanker district, Mr. Arun Sao, today inaugurated the newly constructed Mini Stadium and Multipurpose Indoor Hall near Melabhatha in Kanker on the occasion of the culmination of the Tiranga Yatra. He kicked a football and scored a goal to inaugurate the sports ground. Addressing the students present at the event, Mr. Sao said that the Tiranga Yatra is synonymous with the country's independence, self-reliance, and the immortal sacrifices of great revolutionaries. It is your responsibility to cherish and preserve their dreams.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held on the premises of the newly constructed Mini Stadium and Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sao said that the contribution of the great patriots who sacrificed their lives to liberate the country from years of slavery can never be forgotten. After gaining independence through the sacrifices of the revolutionaries, students will certainly play a big role in making the country self-reliant, a world leader, and the golden bird. He said that the construction of this multipurpose mini stadium will provide extensive facilities to local sports talents, as well as provide a better platform for youth.
Mr. Sao informed that Gyaneshwari Yadav from Rajnandgaon recently won a silver medal in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games, which is a matter of pride for the entire state. It is hoped that this mini stadium will prove to be a better platform for the hidden sports talents of Kanker district. MLA Mr. Asharam Netam congratulated the citizens at the event and appealed to promote sports talents and make the city clean and beautiful. Kanker Zila Panchayat President Mrs. Kiran Nareti and Municipal Council President Mr. Arun Koushik also congratulated on the inauguration of the newly constructed Mini Stadium and Indoor Hall, calling it a major achievement for Kanker city. Collector Mr. Nileshkumar Mahadev Kshirsagar was also present at the inauguration ceremony.
Multipurpose Mini Stadium built at a cost of 7 crores, Multipurpose Indoor Hall built at a cost of 2.40 crores
This multipurpose mini stadium has been constructed in Kanker at a cost of approximately 7 crore rupees and the multipurpose indoor hall at a cost of 2.40 crore rupees. The mini stadium has facilities for football ground, cricket nets, basketball ground, running track, and net practice for various sports. Similarly, the multipurpose indoor hall has facilities for indoor practice of various sports including badminton court, table tennis, and wrestling. An outdoor gym facility is also available here. Its construction will provide modern sports grounds and better technical facilities to the citizens at the local level.
Coconut saplings planted in the Mini Stadium complex
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao and MLA Mr. Asharam Netam planted coconut saplings under the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign in the premises of the newly constructed Mini Stadium and Multipurpose Indoor Hall. Other guests also conveyed the message of environmental protection and conservation by planting saplings in the complex.
