Connecting Rural Students with Modern Technologies Is a Vital Step Towards a Developed Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sahay

In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a major initiative was launched today to connect rural students with future technologies and give science-based education a new direction. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sahay and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh inaugurated the free mobile emerging technology lab under the ‘Bhavna Didi’s Science Pathshala’ by unfurling the green flag from the assembly campus. The state-of-the-art mobile lab will travel to schools in the Pandariya constituency and provide hands-on training in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, drones, 3D printing, coding, Internet of Things (IoT), aeromodeling and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR). Chief Minister Sahay said that for a developed Chhattisgarh it is essential that children in rural areas also join the mainstream of modern science and technology, and described the ‘Science Pathshala’ as an innovative initiative that will give rural students a new flight to their dreams, fostering scientific thinking, innovation, confidence and technical skills. He emphasized that the world is rapidly moving towards AI, robotics, drones, data science and digital technologies, and that rural students must also gain knowledge and practical experience of these emerging fields. He affirmed the government’s effort to ensure equal opportunities so that a village child becomes as capable in future technologies as a city student. He added that the New Education Policy aims to develop skills, innovation, experimentation and creative thinking, and that the mobile lab is a meaningful step in that direction, teaching not only the use of technology but also encouraging creation and innovation. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said the era is one of science and technology and that linking children with new technologies is essential. He noted that ‘Bhavna Didi’s Science Pathshala’ will provide rural students the same opportunities available to urban students, increasing curiosity, fostering innovative thinking and teaching practical use of modern technologies. He explained that through the mobile lab students will not be limited to textbook knowledge but will gain experience in flying drones, operating robots, creating 3D models and working with modern equipment, thereby laying a strong foundation for future scientists, engineers and technologists. He praised MLA Ms. Bhavna Bohra for her continuous efforts in education, innovation and youth development, and said the mobile science lab is a result of her visionary thinking and commitment to education, which will bring positive change to thousands of students. During the program, Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Chief Minister Sahay inspected the mobile emerging technology lab, reviewing its equipment, training modules and teaching system. The chief minister took a special interest in inspecting AI, robotics, drones and other tools, confirming that students will learn these technologies practically, describing the initiative as innovative and inspirational for empowering rural talent. He also examined the various technical modules, appreciated the practical experience provided to children and said experiential education increases interest and confidence. In the first year, more than five thousand students are expected to receive technical education. The mobile lab will visit government schools and Sarwati Shishu Mandirs in the Pandariya area, with a team of five experienced trainers conducting three-to-five-day workshops at each school covering AI, robotics, drones, aeromodeling, 3D printing, coding, IoT and AR/VR. Participants will receive certificates upon completion. The goal is to reach over five thousand students in the first year, prioritising classes 10 to 12, with later phases extending to other grades. The lab’s hands-on learning approach will let students fly drones, operate robots, code, create 3D models and experience AI and AR/VR, developing technical understanding, creativity, problem-solving and an innovative mindset. The speaker and chief minister also wrote their thoughts on a feedback board in the lab and wished success to the innovative effort. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Saav and Vijay Sharma, Skill Development Minister Guru Kushvant Saheb, MLA Ms. Bhavna Bohra, MLA Mr. Sushant Shukla, MLA Mr. Yogeshwar Raju Sinha, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation Ms. Mona Sen and many other representatives and a large number of students.
