Raipur, Rajnandgaon's daughter Gyaneshwari Yadav, who brought glory to the country and Chhattisgarh by winning a silver medal in the women's 53 kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 held in Glasgow, was warmly welcomed and felicitated at the Chief Minister's residence today. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Gyaneshwari on her historic achievement and announced an incentive of Rs 30 lakh and promotion to the out-of-turn DSP post. The Chief Minister said that this honor is an honor of the talent, hard work, and resolve of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Gyaneshwari Yadav, by winning a silver medal in her very first Commonwealth Games, has proven that no goal is impossible with strong willpower, hard work, and discipline. He said that by lifting a total weight of 199 kg in the women's 53 kg weightlifting event, Gyaneshwari has not only won a medal for the country but has also made the entire Chhattisgarh proud.
