CM Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai calls for spreading Yoga to everyone, Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Chairman Mr. Sanjay Agarwal assumes charge
Raipur July 2, 2026/Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai said that yoga is not just exercise, but the foundation of a healthy body, a balanced mind, and a disciplined life. Urging the people of the state to make yoga a part of their daily routine, he said that healthy citizens are the greatest strength of a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai today participated in the ceremony of assuming charge and felicitation of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Chairman Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, organized at the Circuit House in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, he extended his best wishes to Mr. Agarwal for his new responsibility and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Yoga Commission will give new momentum to the promotion and dissemination of yoga in the state and play an important role in taking yoga to every village, school, and every section of society.
The Chief Minister said that under the visionary leadership and continuous efforts of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, India's ancient yoga tradition has received global recognition. Today, more than 176 countries worldwide are celebrating June 21 as International Yoga Day, honoring Indian culture and knowledge tradition. He said that this is a matter of pride for every Indian.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi formed the Ayush Ministry to give a new direction to yoga and Ayurveda and took many important decisions to strengthen traditional medical systems. He informed that a request has been made to the central government for the establishment of an Ayurveda AIIMS in Chhattisgarh. Approximately 44 percent of the state's forest area is rich in medicinal plants, which could make Chhattisgarh a leading center in the country in the field of Ayurveda, nature cure, and wellness tourism in the future.
Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that yoga is an invaluable heritage of Indian culture, which Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has given new prestige at the global level. He said that the state government is continuously striving to take yoga to the masses.
MLA Mr. Kiran Singh Deo expressed confidence that under the leadership of Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission will work effectively to ensure the reach of yoga to every village, city, and family in the state.
