Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel Holds Meeting on Home Department's National Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems

Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vikas Sheel, held a high-level review meeting of the dashboard of the National Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) under the Home Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan today. Strict instructions were issued in the meeting to identify the state's weak points and bring about quick improvements in them. The state's DGP, Shri Arun Dev Gautam, was also specially present in this important meeting.

During the meeting, officials informed that in the latest state scorecard released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Chhattisgarh has scored 64.97 out of 100. However, the state has achieved full marks by performing excellently in the implementation of 'Administrative Reforms' and 'Medilal Report Portal'.

Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel directed officials to make the system of Zero FIR and E-Charge Sheet more robust and transparent to make law and order and digital policing more effective. The 'Nyaya Shruti System' should be started as soon as possible to facilitate the court testimony process through video conferencing in the courts. To expedite the disposal of cases, challans must be presented in the court within the stipulated 60 and 90 days in all circumstances. Considering the importance of digital evidence, special attention should be paid to increasing the use of E-Evidence.

During the dashboard review, special emphasis was placed on the coordination between the police and the home department. Principal Secretary of the Home Department, Mrs. Niharika Barik Singh, Principal Secretary of the Law and Legislative Department, Mrs. Sushma Sawant, Secretary of the Home Department, Shri Himshikhar Gupta, and several other senior administrative and police officers were present in this high-level meeting.
