Launch of Short-Term Loan Scheme Against Salary for Government Servants
Now there will be no need to take loans at high interest rates for emergency needs
Quick benefit will be available from integrated digital system of e-kosh
Raipur, July 8, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today launched the short-term loan scheme against salary for the state's government servants in the auditorium of Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. On this occasion, he also released the brochure of the scheme. The Chief Minister described it as an important initiative of the state government towards employee welfare, good governance, and sensitive administration, stating that its objective is to provide honorable, quick, and easy financial assistance to government servants in emergency situations.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that government servants are the backbone of the state's development. Only when employees work free from financial worries will the benefits of government schemes effectively reach the last person. He said that now employees will not have to face the compulsion of taking loans from private moneylenders or at high interest rates for their emergency needs. The government has developed a system keeping their needs in mind, through which they can obtain short-term loans according to their eligibility without unnecessary paperwork.
The Chief Minister said that the Finance Department has integrated this facility with the e-kosh system by effectively using information technology. This system is completely digital, paperless, secure, and transparent, and it will not impose any additional financial burden on the state government. He congratulated the Finance Department team for this innovative initiative and called upon all government servants to actively participate in taking forward the resolve of a developed Chhattisgarh and good governance.
Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is giving top priority to administrative reforms and employee interests. He informed that after implementing cashless medical facilities for employees, the short-term loan scheme against salary has now been started, under which financial assistance will be available for immediate needs without interest. He informed that in the pilot phase of just two months, more than 73 thousand employees have registered and 27 thousand employees have already availed this facility. There is also a plan to provide loans of larger amounts at competitive interest rates to employees with better credit scores in the future.
Provincial Convener of Chhattisgarh Employees-Officers Association, Shri Kamal Verma, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, stating that this scheme will fulfill a long-felt need of the employees and will provide them with honorable and quick financial assistance in emergency situations.
It is noteworthy that this facility will be operated through a digital platform integrated with the e-kosh system. Employees can apply online from the Employee Corner of e-kosh. After the completion of e-KYC, digital authentication, and consent process, loan approval and disbursement will be done quickly. As per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Finance Department, high standards of data security, privacy, and digital authentication have been ensured in the entire system.
The program was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel, Special Secretary of Finance Department Shri Chandan Kumar, Secretary of Public Works Department Shri Mukesh Bansal, Director (Budget & Finance) Shri Rishabh Parashar, President of Chhattisgarh Ministerial Employees Association Shri Chandrakant Pandey, and a large number of officers and employees.
