New momentum to the resolution of Green Chhattisgarh across the state, inauguration of massive tree plantation and ATM Tree vehicle in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi
Raipur, Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, effective efforts are continuously being made in Chhattisgarh towards environmental conservation and making public participation a mass movement. Under the 'One Tree in Mother's Name 3.0' campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, extensive tree plantation is being done across the state. In this series, on the occasion of Van Mahotsav, a massive tree plantation program was organized by the Forest and Climate Change Department at the Government Higher Secondary School, Navagaon (Pendra) in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district.
Shri Pranav Kumar Marpachi, MLA of Marwahi and the chief guest of the program, flagged off the ATM Tree vehicle with the aim of delivering saplings to every region of the district. He said that the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign, launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is not just limited to tree plantation, but is a pledge for nature conservation, public participation, and a secure future for generations to come. He stated that environmental conservation will play a very important role in building a developed India by the year 2047. He urged all citizens to plant more and more trees, take care of them, and actively participate in creating a green and clean environment. On this occasion, he also administered an oath of environmental conservation to the assembled public.
During the program, MLA Shri Pranav Kumar Marpachi announced the construction of a cycle stand for the convenience of students in the school. Janpad member Smt. Purnima Paikra announced Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a prayer shed in the school. Zila Panchayat President Smt. Sameera Paikra said that the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign gives an inspiring message to fulfill our responsibility towards nature. She urged every citizen to take a pledge to plant at least one tree and conserve it.
During the program, MLA Shri Pranav Kumar Marpachi planted a almond sapling, Zila Panchayat President Smt. Sameera Paikra planted a amla sapling, Collector Shri Vijay Dayaram K. planted a mango sapling, and Divisional Forest Officer Smt. Grishmi Chand planted a kadam sapling. Along with this, public representatives, officials, students, and citizens conveyed the message of environmental conservation by planting saplings of various fruit-bearing and shade-giving species.
The program was attended by Zila Panchayat Vice President Shri Raja Upendra Bahadur, Pendra Municipal Council President Shri Rakesh Jalan, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat Shri Mukesh Rawte, Sarpanch Shri Naresh Paikra, along with public representatives, officers-employees, teachers, students of NCC, Scout-Guide, and a large number of local citizens.
