Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai's commitment to promote agricultural innovation has received a new boost as progressive farmer Bhanupratap, also known as Bhanu Rangila, transformed a traditional farming tool into a seed drill using Jugaad techniques, demonstrating scientific planting of peanuts in the village of Darmohli, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Under the National MEO Oil (NME-Oil) scheme, the agriculture department supplied 80 kg of quality certified groundnut seed, which Bhanupratap cultivated on about two acres. By using local resources and his technical knowledge, he built a low‑cost seed drill that enables uniform spacing and saves labor while improving seed utilization and germination. The state government, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, is continuously working to make farming more profitable, modern, and self‑reliant, providing farmers with advanced technology, quality seeds, and technical guidance through various schemes. The agriculture department aims to reduce cultivation costs, increase production, and ensure steady rise in farmers' income. Deputy Agriculture Officer Satyajeet Kanwar highlighted that such locally developed innovations play a crucial role in making agriculture more affordable and effective. The joint efforts of district administration and the agriculture department are bringing positive change to farmers' lives, and Bhanupratap's innovation proves that government schemes, combined with farmers' creativity and local resources, can steer agriculture in a new direction, serving as an inspiration for other farmers and showcasing a strong image of a self‑sufficient and prosperous agriculture in Chhattisgarh.
