Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay's Leadership Resonates on National Platform for Chhattisgarh's Organic Products

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay’s leadership has brought Chhattisgarh’s organic products to a national platform. At BioFach India-2026, the Vishnubhog rice from Gaurela-Pendra-Mandla district and natural honey from Kevchi garnered appreciation. The hard work of self-help groups received national recognition, opening new domestic and international markets for organic products. In Raipur, the Chhattisgarh government under Chief Minister Sahay continues to strengthen the rural economy, make women’s self-help groups self-reliant and promote organic farming, achieving continuous successes. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission-Bihan, organic products prepared by women’s self-help groups and farmer producer organisations of Gaurela-Pendra-Mandla have established a distinct identity at the country’s largest and prestigious organic industry trade fair and conference, BioFach India-2026. In New Delhi, the district’s famous "Arpa Bihan Vishnubhog Rice" and "Natural Honey Collected from Kevchi Forests" were attractively displayed at the national stall, drawing special attention from buyers, exporters, industry experts and representatives linked to organic products from across the world. This achievement has opened new possibilities in national and international markets not only for the district but for all of Chhattisgarh’s organic produce. Under Chief Minister Sahay’s guidance, the state government gives top priority to natural farming, organic agriculture, value addition of local products and economic empowerment of women’s self-help groups. As a result, women associated with Bihan are no longer limited to production; they are proudly showcasing their products at national trade events, enhancing the state’s reputation. This has provided new identity to local products, increased rural women’s income and created sustainable market opportunities. BioFach India-2026 is a world-class platform promoting natural and organic products and coarse-grain based agricultural ecosystems, where importers, exporters, marketing experts, industry representatives and trade bodies discuss trade and investment prospects for organic goods. The effective presence of Chhattisgarh’s products on such a prestigious stage will pave new trade avenues for the state’s farmers, women’s self-help groups and farmer producer organisations. District Mission Manager Mr. Durgashankar Soni explained that in Gaurela-Pendra-Mandla district, organic Vishnubhog paddy and natural honey production are continuously being promoted along with suran, jackfruit and other organic vegetables. The quality, natural production methods and distinct taste of these products have accelerated demand in the national market. He added that under Chief Minister Sahay’s leadership, women’s self-help groups are becoming economically strong and self-reliant, propelling the "Lakhpati Didi" campaign to new heights. Participation in national and international platforms boosts women’s confidence and provides better marketing opportunities. The Chhattisgarh government aims to link each district’s unique agricultural and forest-based products with national and global markets, ensuring sustainable income growth for farmers, women’s self-help groups and rural entrepreneurs, and securing appropriate recognition and price for local products. The impressive presence of Gaurela-Pendra-Mandla’s organic products at BioFach India-2026 exemplifies the state’s forward-thinking vision and commitment to rural development. At the conference, state-level programme manager Mr. Rajan Soni, district programme manager Mr. Abhishek Jaiswal and Chief Executive Officer of Tipan Farmer Producer Organisation Mr. Jitendra Khairwar participated, effectively showcasing and promoting the district’s organic products, which received wide appreciation from buyers and industry representatives.
