Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay, the state government's commitment to delivering quality health services to every individual is constantly visible on the ground. In this context, the Health Department of Chhattisgarh organized a special health camp in the remote Baiga tribal village of Chhirhitti (Salahgori) in the Gaurala development block to ensure access of health facilities to the specially backward Baiga community. In the camp, a team of specialist doctors arrived in the village, conducted health examinations of villagers and provided free treatment, consultation and medicines. This allowed people in the remote area to benefit from specialist health services in their own village. Under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Rameshwar Sharma, the camp examined and treated a total of 164 villagers. The camp aimed at preventing seasonal diseases, timely disease identification and providing better health facilities; necessary medical consultations were given after investigating various health issues of villagers. Free medicines were also distributed to needy patients, providing immediate relief. The special health camp featured orthopedic specialists, women's health specialists, eye specialists, medicine specialists and other expert doctors who provided services. In addition, the Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Program Manager, Block Medical Officer Gaurala and health department officials and staff were present throughout, playing an active role in the successful operation of the camp. The state government's aim is to ensure that no citizen of the state, no matter how remote or inaccessible the area, is deprived of health facilities. Providing specialist health services to backward tribal communities is among the highest priorities of the government. Expanding health services is not limited to hospitals but includes reaching out to those in need and providing treatment, which is the true hallmark of good governance. Health department officials said that regular special health camps are being organized in remote and backward tribal areas to enable timely disease detection, provide treatment and refer serious patients to higher medical institutions as needed. Villagers are also being educated about sanitation, nutrition, prevention of seasonal diseases and healthy lifestyle. The reach of specialist doctors to remote Baiga areas shows that under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay’s leadership, the state government is continually working to make health services more accessible, inclusive and effective. Such special health camps not only provide timely treatment to people but also strengthen confidence and awareness about health in tribal areas.
