Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay had a cordial meeting with the renowned filmmaker-director and actor Padma Shri Dr. Chandraprakash Dvivedi at the Chief Minister's Residence Office in Raipur. The Chief Minister presented Dr. Dvivedi with a shawl and emblem and warmly welcomed him. During the meeting, they had an affectionate discussion on various topics including Indian history, culture, literature and cinema. The Chief Minister said that Indian cinema and television have played an important role in conveying our historical and cultural heritage to the new generation. Dr. Dvivedi, through his creations, has effectively brought Indian history, culture and literature to the masses. His work of presenting historical and literary subjects on screen with rigorous research, sensitivity and powerful presentation is commendable. The Chief Minister mentioned Doordarshan’s popular series "Chanakya" and noted that Dr. Dvivedi’s effective portrayal of Acharya Chanakya’s personality, national awareness and political philosophy left an indelible impression on viewers across the country. He said such creations related to history and culture become an important medium to acquaint the new generation with its civilization, heritage and national values. Dr. Dvivedi expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s warm reception. The discussion also highlighted the rich tribal culture, folk traditions, literature and historical heritage of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh’s cultural diversity and tribal traditions are a distinct identity of the state and that there are immense possibilities for creation in the state’s folk art, folk literature and glorious heritage. Present at the event were the Chief Minister’s media advisor Mr. Pankaj Jha, President of the Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi Mr. Shashank Sharma, member of the State Women’s Commission Mrs. Priyavanda Singh Joudev and Mr. Prabal Pratap Singh Joudev.
