Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay announces 51 lakh incentive for Asian Games gold medalist Sanju Devi
Raipur – Sanju Devi, a member of the Indian women's kabaddi team that won gold at the Asian Games 2026, met Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay at the CM residence today. The Chief Minister congratulated her on this historic achievement and announced an incentive of 5.1 million rupees. He praised her excellent performance, hard work and determination that brought pride to Chhattisgarh and the nation, and said her success will inspire girls and young athletes in the state. The government will provide all possible opportunities and incentives to sports talent, including better training, resources and support to shine in national and international competitions. The Chief Minister had an informal conversation with Sanju Devi about her experiences at the Asian Games and the team's outstanding performance, wishing her a bright future. He emphasized that an athlete's achievement inspires thousands of youth. Sanju Devi’s victory, achieved with a crucial contribution in the women's kabaddi final where India defeated Iran, highlights the strength of Chhattisgarh’s talent.
