Raipur, July 15, 2026/Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is continuously working towards making agriculture more profitable, modern, and self-reliant. Through schemes run by the agriculture department, farmers are being provided with advanced technology, quality seeds, and technical guidance. A positive outcome of this was seen in the village Darmoholi of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, where progressive farmer and local folk artist Shri Bhanupratap alias Bhanu Rangila, with his ingenuity and innovation, has presented a successful example of scientific sowing of groundnuts by converting a traditional agricultural implement into a seed drill using jugaad technique. Using 80 kg of quality groundnut seeds received from the agriculture department under the National Mission on Edible Oils (NMEO-Oil) scheme, Shri Bhanupratap is sowing about two acres of land. He prepared a low-cost seed drill using local resources and his technical understanding, which enabled systematic sowing at uniform distances in less time. This innovation has saved labor, and also increased the possibility of balanced seed usage and better germination. In line with the Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's vision, the agriculture department is not only providing benefits of schemes to farmers but also motivating them to adopt modern agricultural techniques and local innovations. The objective of the agriculture department is to reduce the cost of farming, increase production, and ensure continuous growth in farmers' income. The effort of the farmer from village Darmoholi has emerged as an inspiring example realizing this thought. Deputy Director Agriculture Shri Satyajeet Kanwar said that such innovations developed at the local level play an important role in making farming more economical and effective. The agriculture department is encouraging farmers to adopt such useful local experiments along with modern techniques, so that more production can be achieved with fewer resources. He informed that under the National Mission on Edible Oils scheme, farmers in the district are being provided with quality seeds, technical guidance, and necessary support, due to which the area and production of oilseed crops are increasing, and farmers' income is also continuously growing. Schemes operated through the joint efforts of the district administration and the agriculture department are now becoming a medium of positive change in the lives of farmers. The innovation of progressive farmer Shri Bhanupratap alias Bhanu Rangila is proof that the effective benefits of government schemes, coupled with farmers' creative thinking and proper utilization of local resources, can give a new direction to agriculture. This model is becoming a source of inspiration for other farmers as well and presents a strong picture of Chhattisgarh moving towards self-reliant and prosperous agriculture.
