Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, emphasizing his crucial role in the creation of Chhattisgarh. Speaking at a wreath-laying ceremony in Raipur, Sai highlighted that the very name “Chhattisgarh” is a contribution of Atal Ji. He recalled Vajpayee’s multifaceted personality as a journalist, poet, and statesman, and his captivating oratory skills. Sai mentioned the commencement of a 25-week celebration marking the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s formation, attributing this milestone to Vajpayee’s vision. He also announced the designation of this year as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh,’ with a dedicated budget for infrastructure development. The Chief Minister stated that the state is progressing towards fulfilling the objectives for which Vajpayee envisioned Chhattisgarh and unveiled the Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision-2047 roadmap for a developed state within the next 25 years. Sai shared personal anecdotes, recalling his opportunity to hear Vajpayee’s addresses in Parliament when he was an MP. He remembered the anticipation surrounding Vajpayee’s speeches, his wit, and ability to connect with the audience. Sai also mentioned that he was present to witness the parliamentary discussions concerning the formation of Chhattisgarh. He stressed that Vajpayee emphasized principles and values in politics, viewing it as an art of dialogue, consensus, and empathy. The Chief Minister concluded by stating that Vajpayee’s words continue to resonate, inspiring progress and development.
